Curvy CBB star Claire Richards announced as ambassador for plus-size fashion brand
Steps singer Claire Richards is more famous for her varying waistline than her vocals these days.
The nation has seen the 35-year-old balloon in size, then slim back down, balloon, then slim a bit, balloon again, slim down again ... and Claire has made a career out of her curves and her obsession with food and her body.
Today, Claire says that she is finally happy with her weight and her famous figure has landed her a modelling deal with cheap chic plus-size brand Fashion World.
The online brand sells affordable fashion in sizes 12-32 and as the new ambassador for the brand Claire appears on the site giving styling tips and modelling the spring/summer collection.
The introduction to Claire's page reads: 'Like many women, Claire leads a busy life and knows what it's like to juggle a career with being a mum and a wife. That's why she loves Fashion World.
'Claire's picked out her fave items from our fashion collections to show you what she's loving this season.'
When asked the key to looking good Claire said: What's in your wardrobe is key to how you look.
You want the right colour, the right cut of fabric and your clothes have to work with your body shape.'
The mother-of two poses in a variety of outfits including a ruffled top and red jeans (Claire says: 'Make an on trend statement with red! The perkier bum jeans give the appearance of a more pert bum, whilst the ruffle top flatters the tummy,') cargo pants and a biker jacket ('Rock the yummy mummy look with cargo pants and a biker jacket with stud detail for extra edge!') and a jersey jumpsuit ('A simple, yet stylish, flattering outfit. The bird detail belt adds interest to the simple jumpsuit whilst the shrug provides great arm coverage and pulls the outfit together. It's effortless chic at it's best!').
There is also a selection of tailored pieces available with different bra sizes called Glamourama.
Talking about her partnership with Fashion World the TV star said: 'Sometimes I just despair when I have to get new clothes, as I can never find what I want on the high street, everything I like doesn't come in my size and as I only have 20 minutes to spare before heading to the next meeting or school run, I just don't have time to have a proper look.
'Fashion World has totally changed my attitude to buying fashion and has revolutionised my wardrobe!
'Finally I can find clothes which look great, are suitable for all occasions and come in my size.'
Since quitting Steps in 2001 Claire has had a rather toxic relationship with food, even documenting it in a television series called Claire Richards: A Slave To Food.
She told Closer magazine: 'When I first started out in Steps at 19, I really cared about what other people thought of me and the pressure to be thin was horrific.
'I'd bake a cake for my friends, then refuse to have even the thinnest slice, It was an illness.
'I switched myself off food because i thought, if I gained weight, I'd be chucked out of the band.'
